Hello All,

Well the MEAP is finally over.  I am extremely impressed with how the children conducted themselves during test taking.  They were calm, collected, and relaxed throughout the entire two week and I know they are tired from all the testing.  Due to state laws I am not allowed to look at the test while they are taking them and obviously cannot comment on their academic performance.  I really think that all of the MEAP practice we did in the beginning of the year prepare the children for success on the actual assessment.  Every child is working hard and that is the most important thing they can do to find success in this class, throughout the rest of their education, and into life.  Here are some reminders for the up coming weeks.

HALLOWEEN PARTY:

Information about the party came last week.  If you did not receive this information, our parade is on Wednesday October 31from 9-9:30 am and our party will be from 9:30-10am.  Our party will be our class only and the children will have to change out of their costumes after the party (before they go to recess at 10:30).  I have four people signed up to help (thank you very much) and this is what I would like for you all to bring:

  • Stacey Eppard – donuts
  • Karina Weaver – cider
  • Carol Evans – fruit/veggies
  • Patty Miles – plates/napkins/cups

IS THIS OKAY WITH ALL OF YOU???????

WE HAVE 24 STUDENTS

If anyone else would like to help please feel free to contact me and let me know what you would like to do.  I would like to ask that there be no candy at our party, I think that the children will get enough sweets trick-or-treating that night.  I would like our party to be enjoyable and healthy (as much as possible) at the same time.

Field Trip:

Please send in the signed permission slip and $6.00 fee for the field trip ASAP.  If you would like to chaperon please indicate that on permission slip.  It is important to know that if you wish to chaperon, you must complete a background check.  For more information about getting a background check contact the Human Resources Department on the Holt Public School 9th Grade Campus located on Holt Road across from the High School.

If you have any questions about anything please feel free to contact me at any time.

Thank you and take care,
