Improving Student Learning Efforts (ISLE) Grants Program - NEW!
The Center for Teaching Excellence and Assessment Steering Committee for Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College are pleased to announce approximately $10,000 in funding for faculty grant activities aimed at improving student learning through assessment-based activities. All faculty members (including adjuncts) are invited to submit proposals for appropriate projects or activities to the Inter-Institutional Assessment Committee. Proposals for $50 to $2500 are welcomed; the submission date is April 1, 2009.
Applicants are encouraged to work alone or with colleagues to design activities, projects, or programs that will improve student learning in courses, programs or co-curricular activities; contribute to ongoing assessment efforts; contribute to professional development of colleagues by including dissemination activities; and implement the mission of PC&TC or FSU.
Possible grant-supported activities may include, but are not limited to:
Requests might support, for example, computer hardware or software to facilitate the use of technology; workshops or speakers; books or other resource materials; refreshments for students involved in learning or assessment activities; travel, etc.
