Proposed actions to achieve goal: Create institutional committees to meet and create program guidelines to instruct program requirements, processes and implementation. Develop structural elements with regard to timeline, number of programs, personnel, and finances.
Expected Results: A program plan will be utilized to direct the development of the lasallian experience program.
Details/Description: Creation of the lasallian experience program will significantly increase participation in study abroad and our partnerships with lasallian institutions.
 
Increase program outreach to increase student participation in study abroad
Utilize marketing campaign tools, partnership engagement and program development to increase student participation in study abroad.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: create new opportunities to market study abroad programming through social media tools, utilizing communications staff to help design marketing materials, track number of student meetings and increase outreach efforts in regards to clubs, classroom presentations and student study abroad ambassadors. Utilize graduate assistants and student workers to increase outreach measures.
Expected Results: Increased study abroad participation and diversify marketing campaign tools to help study abroad stand out and become a larger institutional component at Manhattan College.
Details/Description: Revamping marketing materials and methods of outreach will expand study abroad's presence on campus and increase brand recognition.
 
Support faculty program development for current and new study abroad courses
Facilitate program development by surveying faculty for new opportunities and work with current study abroad courses to improve upcoming programs.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Created and implement a faculty expectations contract to organize process for how the study abroad office and faculty work together and how faculty are to conduct themselves during programs.
Expected Results: Have a set standard document to refer to that organizes faculty and study abroad office conduct.
Details/Description: One page faculty expectations agreement that will be signed by each faculty member who directs a study abroad program.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Travel to program sites and conferences to research new program sites. Utilize study abroad assessments to understand student interest. Pursue online research to prepare new program ideas for future. Be able to speak to faculty about these opportunities in order to encourage and cultivate new ideas
Expected Results: Increased programmatic opportunities and diversify in study abroad offerings.
Details/Description: Opportunities like on-site visits, conferences and workshops will keep the office updated with potential study abroad options. Research through online and student evaluations will contribute to study abroad support for faculty interest.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Continue to survey faculty interest for new study abroad program opportunities. Meet to discuss opportunities to increase program offerings and support faculty participation.
Expected Results: Increase in faculty knowledge of study abroad and encourage participation. Meet to discuss and develop new faculty programs.
Details/Description: Continue the implementation of a faculty interest survey to identify new program opportunities. Set up meetings with faculty to discuss specific details and support program proposals.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Work with IT to make changes to the digital student course approval form. Test course form to ensure that it works error free. Work with registrar, academic advisors and VP of Academic Affairs to ensure the form is correct.
Expected Results: An improved digital approval form that will work for all students and help improve efficiency for study abroad course registration.
Details/Description: The first study abroad digital form was created, but needs improvements before it can be released. We will work with IT, registrar, academic advisors and the VP of academic affairs to ensure these improvements are ready for the next class.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Continue to improve student payment procedures for study abroad courses. Payment for study abroad has become digital, making it easier for students to pay for study abroad program fees. We will continue to improve the systems to make it easier for student enrollment
Expected Results: A better registration experience for students and more efficient payment process through study abroad and finance.
Details/Description: Digital credit card payments are now being used for study abroad deposit and program fees. We are working with finance to ensure systems operate smoothly without technical errors. It give us the ability to monitor fees for multiple programs more easily.
