Update course design processes, documentation and course templates to increase level of compliance with Quality Matters standards for design of online and hybrid courses.
 
Conduct ongoing quality review of repeat online/hybrid courses in preparation for each course offering and correct deficiencies as needed.
 
Facilitate the adoption and use of Moodle, the Manhattan College learning management system, through a comprehensive strategy of training, support and feature enhancements to Moodle.
 
Evaluate currently available instructional technologies in relation to instructional needs expressed by faculty and students for face-to-face instruction, online/hybrid instruction, and/or for mitigating learning disruptions and adopt as appropriate.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: a. Continue to convert existing courses to online or hybrid format, adopting the principles and strategies identified in Measures 1.1 to 1.4
Expected Results: a. New and converted courses that adhere to Quality Matter standards.
Details/Description: The courses described in 1.5 will not be included in the 2017-18 assessment efforts (Measures 1.1 to 1.4) but may be assessed in subsequent years.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: a. Instructors are prompted to provide feedback and suggestions regarding minor improvements to the course (rewording of assignments, replacement of individual resources, additional instructions, technical improvements, etc.)

                 b. Instructors are prompted to provide feedback regarding perception of major issues with the course
Expected Results: a. Minor changes are implemented in preparation for the course delivery and applied back to the master course shell

                 b. The request is reviewed and, if approved, is implemented for immediate delivery or for the next delivery of the course. For SCPS courses, significant changes to content or changes that alter the courses curriculum are forwarded to the Executive Director of SCPS for review

Proposed actions to achieve goal: a. Continue to provide Moodle training to all new faculty as part of new faculty orientation

                 b. Continue to provide Moodle training as part of New Adjunct Orientation

                 c. Offer open Moodle training sessions during first week of each semester

                 d. Provide on-demand training for all faculty interested in using Moodle for their courses

                 e. Continue to update and expand on library of training materials compiled on the Moodle Training Course

                 f. Update Manhattan College Instructional Technology blog with tips and tricks for using Moodle effectively as well as new features as they become available
Expected Results: a. All new full-time faculty receive Moodle training as part of new faculty orientation

                 b. All interested new adjunct faculty receive Moodle training as part of New Adjunct Orientation

                 c. At least two open Moodle training sessions are offered during the time period extending from one week before and week after the first day of class

                 d. All requests for one-on-one training are honored

                 e. All training materials are updated for each new version of Moodle

                 f. Manhattan College Instructional Technology blog is updated at least twice monthly and whenever changes occur or new features become available

                 b. Partner with Client Services to better prepare Client Services personnel for providing effective Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to faculty and students

                 c. Partner with Library Circulation staff to provide basic troubleshooting strategies for common student Moodle issues
Expected Results: a. Non-problem help requests (requests relating to a question not related to a Moodle issue) are responded to within 24 hours. Problem help requests are resolved as quickly as possible or to escalated to ITS as needed

                 b. There is a reduction in the number of basic help requests escalated from Client Services to Instructional Design

                 c. There is an increase in the number of student issues that Library Circulation staff is able to resolve
