Maintain and Support Faculty Development Committee
Maintain and support the growth of the faculty development committee, including at least one member for each school and liaison roles/responsibilities.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Work with Deans, Provost and faculty to ensure at least one member from each school on committee.

Details/Description:
 
Continue to support faculty development initiatives through Faculty Development day, CELT lunches, and co-sponsorship of events.
Hold 2-3 lunch events each semester, maintain Faculty Development Day in August, and co-sponsor panel and other events/programming for faculty development.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Organize Faculty Development Day to have multiple sessions with invited speaker presentations throughout the day.
Expected Results: Faculty Development Day in August with multiple sessions and speakers on faculty development topics throughout the day.
Details/Description: Over the last few years, the Faculty Development Day in August has drawn a large number of faculty. There have been a number of both internal and external speakers in concurrent sessions. Topics have ranged from HIP's to Research to Teaching and Learning Innovations.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Organize FDC (CELT) lunches in different faculty development areas, with a focus on innovation in learning and teaching, research and scholarship, and service.

                       

                        Organize panel events at end of each semester.
Expected Results: 2-3 lunches per semester with invited external and internal speakers. At least 1 panel event to close each semester.
Details/Description: Core programming for CELT and FDC has surrounded monthly speakers and lunches. This is one main area that faculty development has grown organically.
 
Work on marketing, promotion and assessment of FDC activities
Market and promote events to ensure turnout at faculty development events.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Create a website for FDC and promote events through portal, emails, and website.
Expected Results: Creation of a website for FDC.

                        Marketing of FDC events through flyers, portal, and emails.

                        Increase in turnout at programming.
Details/Description: Currently there is no website for FDC to outline resources and programming.
