                        • Track student attendance at information sessions and counseling sessions.

Expected Results: 1. Continuation of student referrals from faculty and administrators.

                        2. Increased numbers of students presenting their research at conferences

Details/Description: MC has a strong alumni community in law-related fields that provides a valuable network of contacts and information for our students. Pre-law advising and related programming should contribute to raising awareness among students studying in all MC schools of legal career options and resources available to help them prepare to enter law school programs. Continuing to provide quality advising, resources and access to professional networks remains important for our students because, in recent years, applications to law school nationwide have declined; we should endeavor to keep the percentage of MC students admitted to law school high.

Visits to student organizations and classrooms have yielded some applicants, and presentations at research scholars seminars have been the most successful. Early identification of students participating in study abroad or L.O.V.E. programs has been fruitful. In addition, strong faculty recommendations are important to fellowship applications, so faculty are often the best source of potential applicants.
