• The Department of Student-Athlete Academic Success Services (SAASS) would continue to provide all around support to student-athletes in the academic, athletic and overall personal development while at Manhattan College.

            • Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Academic Success, Marisa Passafiume, the Department of Student-Athlete Success Services would consist of:

            - Director of Student-Athlete Success Services – Rory Redmond

            - Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Success Services – Cristian Ramos

            - Graduate Assistant – TBD

• Continue to distribute and evaluate results of on-line surveys given to all student-athletes and coaches.

            • Continue to collect & analyze traffic data by utilizing the college’s learning management software Accademia & the college’s retention services software Mapworks.

            - Use consistent language to improve data collection methods in Mapworks across all Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff.

            • Initiate formal individual meetings (2x year) with Academic Advisors from all five schools and other various departments on campus to be able to provide student-athletes with up to date information.

• Continue to improve & expand the Jasper Jumpstart orientation program for all incoming freshmen & transfer student-athletes.

            • Continue to evaluate & expand the Study Hall Program by utilizing data from previous semesters to drive decision making.

            • Continue to promote the Summer Research Scholar initiative for Student-Athletes.

            • Implement a midyear Jasper Jumpstart program for all spring enrollees.

            • Increase social media presence

            - Increase followers on Twitter by 20%

            - Create Instagram account

            • Develop & implement a Jasper Peer Program to help new student-athlete acclimate to Manhattan.

            - The Peer Program would assign an upperclassman to a group of freshmen student-athletes. These groups would meet 3 times throughout their 1st semester to help the freshmen adjust to life at Manhattan.

            • Develop and implement a Seminar Series using the CAS' Peer Academic Coaches to develop academic skills for student-athletes.

            • Build lap-top library for student-athletes to borrow laptops

Formalize the Athletic Academic Advisors into the Department of Student-Athlete Academic Success Services (SAASS).
• The Department of Student-Athlete Academic Success Services (SAASS) would continue to provide all around support to student-athletes in the academic, athletic and overall personal development while at Manhattan College.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will distribute a survey for student-athletes to be taken toward the end of each year to evaluate the utilization and satisfaction with the services provided by Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff.

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will distribute a survey for coaches to evaluate the utilization and satisfaction with the services provided by the Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff.

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will evaluate the results of survey items to drive future initiatives.

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff use Accudemia to track student athlete attendance at meetings and the utilization of academic support services (study hall, tutoring, & PAC meetings).

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will utilize Mapworks to monitor all student athletes and communicate with other college support systems.

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will reach out to the following departments on campus to set up formal meetings: Advisors from School of Business, Education, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Science, Financial Aid Administration, Registrar.

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will create an on-going list of questions to address with the above listed parties.
Expected Results: • Distribution and completion surveys (student athletes and coaches)

                        - 90 % survey completion rate by student athletes

                        - 90% survey completion rate by coaches

                        • Analyze survey results by using the analysis component feature on Google survey

                        • Run reports through Accudemia to analyze how student-athletes used services

                        • Completed meetings with schools & departments

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will evaluate and modify study hall policies based on data collected from previous semesters to drive decision making.

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will meet with Assistant Vice President for Student and Faculty Development, Rani Roy to ensure student-athletes are getting accurate information and promote Summer Research Scholars Program.

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will implement a midyear Jasper Jumpstart orientation program for all spring enrollees

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will encourage new and returning student-athletes to follow @Jasper_Advising on Twitter

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will create a Jasper Advising Instagram Account.

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will develop and implement a Jasper Peer Program to help new student-athlete acclimate to Manhattan College

                        • The Student-Athlete Academic Success Services staff will meet with Learning Specialist and PAC’s to develop Seminar Series
