Respond to new MSCHE processes and requests for evidence that the institution complies with all applicable government policies, regulations, and requirements. Complete an annual review of NYSED Inventory of Registered Programs working with the Registrar. Ensure that liberal arts requirements are met especially for School of Education programs.
Expected Results: Final version of disclosure and compliance web pages posted online. File necessary requests with NYSED to revise and update the College's Inventory of Registered Programs (e.g. removing obsolete programs, processing program curriculum updates and title changes, etc). Work with Dean, School of Education to file nay necessary program or degree type changes with NYSED to ensure that liberal arts requirements are met.

Other level; Indirect - Other | |  | | | | Proposed actions to achieve goal: Compliance with New York State Education Law Article 129-A & B and related provisions including Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Clery Act, and Title IX through coordination of activities of the College's Advisory Committee on Campus Security and preparation and submission of an annual report to the College President . Review specific campus policies and procedures on campus security and make written recommendations for their improvement at least once each academic year.
Expected Results: 2017-18 report submitted to the President by May 2017. Provide assurance to file annual certificate of compliance with the New York State Education Department regarding Article 129-A. Independent review by advisory committee achieved for other compliance mandates e.g. Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Clery Act, Title IX. Review draft Safety and Security Report with Director, Public Safety and arrange for required dissemination.
Details/Description: A safe campus environment is fostered through, among other initiatives, compliance with Federal and State mandates relating to reviewing policies and procedures, disclosure of safety statistics, and having supportive processes in place. Article 129-A provides for a check and balance through a Presidential appointed advisory committee to annually review polices and procedures. |

Institution level; Direct - Other | |  | | | | Proposed actions to achieve goal: Review and process all faculty and student applications for proposed research projects involving human subjects including projects involving physically invasive protocols, survey based research, sensitive topics (e.g. drug/alcohol abuse) or sensitive populations (e.g. minors in K-12 school settings where graduate students intern). Ensure protocols do not pose any or only minimal risks to participants and that, when required, procedures are in place to maintain confidentiality. Serve as chair of the College’s IRB and convene IRB meetings as required. Arrange for the appropriate representatives on the IRB including, when necessary, external personnel in the field of the proposed research. Process approvals or exemptions, as appropriate. Serves as liaison with Director, Grants Administration to ensure compliance with Federal requirements for proposals involving human subjects including training, as required.
Expected Results: All applications are processed within 10 working days of receipt. Approvals and certifications are distributed to investigators for concurrence. Third party IRB requests are handled, as required.

Working with the Dean of Students, draft and distribute the mandated annual notice regarding copyright infringement.
Expected Results: All notices successfully processed and appropriate referrals made to Dean of Students thus ensuring compliance with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act and maintenance of the College's "safe harbor" shielding it from liability for copyright infringement using College systems as well as compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act. Annual notice revised and disseminated to students.

Provide appropriate support services to recruit and retain excellent faculty and maintain their work eligibility. Provide faculty and administrative support in a number of other areas as requested.
|  | Measure: a. Faculty Immigration Processing
Other level; Direct - Other | |  | | | | Proposed actions to achieve goal: This area has taken on added significance given recent Executive Orders and litigation related to U.S. immigration policies. Working closely with the College's immigration counsel, handle all required processing for full-time faculty including nonimmigrant and immigrant visas (F-1/OPT, H-1B, J-1, O, TN). Pay particular attention to faculty from countries that are impacted by policy changes or treaty renegotiation or abrogation. Coordinate procedures for the permanent residence process including labor certifications, special handling, PERM application process, work with dept chairs and search committees to gather and summarize recruitment material on candidates processed, and adjustment of status requests. Process H-1B and TN visa extension requests.
Expected Results: All faculty requiring immigration processing are appropriately authorized to legally work full time for the College and engage in international travel, as desired. Those affected by shifting currents in U.S. immigration policy are counseled and supported.
