Administrative Goals

Goal
GoalMapping
Expand on Orientation and Opening Weekend initiatives to address the developmental needs of first-year and transfer students as an integral part of ensuring the successful social and academic transition to Manhattan College. Add a diversity component, expand on health & wellness initiatives, re-energize the Lasallian and Student Life presentations, enhance the registration and TRAM exam process, and integrate the orientation of international students.

Integrate multicultural student services and international student advising. Cultivate the Multicultural Center as a programmatic and resource hub for all diversity initiatives on campus. Develop a comprehensive strategy to implement diversity programs, diversity dialogues, and awareness trainings. Work collaboratively with all constituent groups (faculty, administrators, students, etc.). Develop a comprehensive academic and social support network for underrepresented students (students of color, first generation college students, veterans, international students, LGBT students, etc.).

Work collaboratively with all constituent groups to develop an assessment strategy to measure campus climate, a strategic vision for campus diversity (minority permanence, recruitment and retention plan), and institute policies and practices that ensure an inclusive, representative, and supportive campus community.

Create programs and initiatives that further engage our commuter student population, paying particular attention to first-generation underrepresented students.

Develop and implement a co-curricular programmatic agenda in anticipation of the opening of a Veteran Student Center.
