What is the Praxis II & PLT?

  • The Praxis II Content Test and the Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) tests are required to be taken prior to graduation and must be passed prior to licensure.
  • Students typically take the tests just before or during the the student teaching semester.  Please note that if you take the test during student teaching you should register on a weekend or day when you are off of school.
  • Please visit the following site to find test codes. https://www.ets.org/praxis/nd/test-takers/plan-your-test/licensure-requirements.html

How long does it take to get results?

  • Test results are for the reading, math and Praxis II content tests are shown on the computer screen immediately following the test.  Official results for those tests and results for the PLT and writing tests are sent to the students ETS account within 2-4 weeks of the test date.  Mayville State University typically receives results a few days after the student receives them.
