NOTE The Curriculum Map Feature is the most complex feature in the P.A.W.S. interface. If you require assistance at any point, the Office of Assessment is happy to help build the Curriculum Map structure for your program/unit.
Locate and click 'Curriculum Map' contained in the left-hand menu:

Then click 'Check Out' in the top righthand corner. This will prevent other users from making edits while you are working.
Once you have checked out the workspace, you click 'Create New Curriculum Map' in the left center work area:

The next screen will prompt you to name your Curriculum Map and select the outcome set to which you want to align:

For this resource guide, we will align to the presented set 'First Year Writing Program Outcome Set.' You will align to your program's outcomes. Once you provide a name for your map and choose your outcomes, click 'Select.' An pop-up message will then appear:

Click 'OK.'
When you click 'OK' two things will happen. First, your taskstream browser will redirect you to this screen:

Second, your Curriculum Map will pop-up in a second window:

If your browser blocks pop-ups, you will need to adjust your browser settings to allow pop-ups from this site. Then go back to work area screen and click 'Edit Map.' This will re-initiate the Curriculum Map pop-up.
NOTE The Curriculum Map saving feature is different than the rest of P.A.W.S. They system will periodically save your work. However, before you close the Curriculum Map window, always be sure to click 'Save Now' in the top left corner or your most recent updates may be lost.
There are several features to note in the Curriculum Map screen. First is the 'Mapping Actions' menu in the top left corner:

A user can Manage the Alignment Set (choose which outcomes to map), Create a New Category, Create a New Course/Activity, Copy from Another Map (in this program/unit), Print, or PDF. Most users will only use the 'Create New Category' function in this menu.
The next area of interest are the top menu/outcome areas:

The small right arrow facing down to and to the right is a quick-button to add a new Course/Activity. The up and down arrows side by side identify where a user can click in a Course/Activity to drag and drop to reorder Courses/Activities. Out to the right there is a sort function indicated with the letters AZ. Lastly, there is an X to indicate where a Course/Activity can be deleted.
The words 'Courses and Learning Activities' can also be edited by simply click on the words. This will cause a pop-up window to show allowing for a text change.
The legend for the Curriculum Map is located at the bottom of the screen:

Curricular units are expected to follow the IRA alignment method. Co-curricular and Support Units can use General Alignment or, where available, simple check mark alignments.
When adding a class, as stated, click the small gray arrow pointing down and to the right:

This will cause a pop-up to activate:

The system requires a Course/Activity ID (e.g., PHIL2235) and a Course/Activity Title. For the title, the Office of Assessment recommends using the same identifier as the Course/Activity ID (e.g., PHIL2235) because course titles can change year over year.
Once entered, click 'Create.'

The system will send you back to your Curriculum Map. From here, simply click the box labeled 'Click' to cycle through the various IRA options. Once you have selected the appropriate level, be sure to click 'Save Now' to periodically save your work.
Once complete, your map will look like this:

The Student Learning Outcomes/KPI's will be across the top, all courses or activities will be down the left side, and the various levels of alignment will be indicated and color coded.
When you have confirmed the map represents your curriculum, click 'Check In' in the top right of the work area to close our your work.
