School Counseling Program Handbook

Advising and Advice

A full time faculty member in the School Counseling Program is assigned to every student for advising.  The advisor serves as a source of information and provides guidance to the student regarding the student’s program of study.

The Coordinator is responsible for accepting transfer credits and submitting course substitutions to the Director of Graduate Services for approval.  The Coordinator is also responsible for the final decision on course overloads.

It is essential for students’ professional development that they follow the appropriate channels for information about the School Counseling Program.  Students should address questions first to their instructors and then consult with the Program Coordinator.  It is the responsibility of all school counseling students to read and understand the School Counseling Program Graduate Handbook.
