Student Learning Outcomes

Goal 1: Identify and describe a range of cultural, economic, political, and social systems around the globe and their interrelationships. 

1.A Students will identify and describe essential and distinctive features of cultures.

1.B Students will identify and describe essential and distinctive features of the international economy.

1.C Students will identify and describe essential and distinctive features of the global political systems.

1.D Students will identify and describe essential and distinctive features of the social systems of different world regions.

Goal 2: Demonstrate knowledge of essential and distinctive features of a particular world region (such as literature and arts; history; economic, social, and political systems) and a language of the region. 

2.A Students will identify essential and distinctive features of the student's chosen region of study.  

2.B Students will communicate with intermediate proficiency in the language of the student's chosen region of study. 

Goal 3: Demonstrate a sense of global citizenship, in terms of global competence, social responsibility, and globall civic engagement. 

3.A Students will identify a variety of global issues and express appreciation of different cultural values.  

3.B Students will describe their role in the context of global issues.  

3.C Students will identify ways in which they will civically engage to affect change.  

Goal 4: Demonstrate effective analytical skills and oral and written communication skills. 

4.A Students will effectively analyze academic materials or problems.

4.B Students will communicate proficiently orally.

4.C Students will write effectively.
