Director of Field Clinical Placements
The Director of Field Clinical Placements is the professional head of the Student Teaching Program.
Specific duties of the Director of Field Clinical Placements are to:
provide overall educational leadership and direction to student teaching in the university;
coordinate the application process involving the various departments;
make initial judgment regarding internship eligibility in consultation with the student's advisor and department chair;
make final judgment regarding internship eligibility and placement in consultation with the applicant and department chair;
make contact with school districts regarding student teaching placements and arrange for and place in public schools all successful applicants for student teaching;
maintain proper files relative to student teaching;
schedule and preside at all Student Teaching meetings;
evaluate the Student Teaching Program to obtain up-to-date information upon which to base decisions relative to program improvements; and
develop and distribute to appropriate individuals and areas of the university all forms and materials essential to their effective participation in the student teaching program.
