DCSD TAPP is a classroom-based teacher preparation option for individuals who have the basic qualifications to teach but have not completed a teacher preparation program. In addition to equipping teacher-candidates with the skills to ensure success in the classroom, we strongly believe all teacher candidates must have the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for working with the diverse student population of DeKalb County. Potential teacher-candidates must also decide if teaching is the right career for them. Potential teacher-candidates are reminded that in addition to program acceptance, an offer of full-time employment in a DeKalb County Schools is required. The checkpoints below will guide you through program requirements.
A disposition is habit of mind and emotion that one displays over a length of time; it is evident through a person's behavior and relationships with others. Please take some time to complete the disposition self-assessment in order to decide if teaching is the right profession for you.
This also includes the successful completion of student teaching.
