As a person opens my E-Portfolio I want to readers to inhabit the idea that education is not something that can be taught in one specific way.
Overall Goal For Viewers - Education cannot be acted through any one way of or any single method it must be expressed onto its subjects in a way that gives them room for trial and error. Education is also perceived in different ways how are we to judge how one subject might handle a certain situation that another might excel in? There are not any more problems with the Banking Concept of Education than there are with Problem-Posing or any other synthesized form of education.
I want to portray these ideas through a series of examples, that can interact the viewer with images of historical and more outdated photographs of the education system as well as more modern ones. I will also incorporate different struggles within the education system that have yet to be highlighted by any method of approaching education. I want to show videos of current productions as well as documentaries on the matter, that can eventually make the viewer place themselves in both a Banking Concept education and Problem-Posing education.
I want to bring experience, connections and memories onto the portfolio by using Richard Rodriguez's story as a back story to use as a reference tool as another individual's experience in the world of education. I wan to use their mistakes, their successes to piggy back off onto the highs and lows an education can bring to any one particular student.
I want create a Venn diagram depicting the issues within the Freire's essay and having both the banking concept and problem posing show the similarities and faults each have against each other in a visual approach. By shining a light on the gaps these methods seem to not acknowledge, I will be able to conceptualize on the picture it wants to portray instead of finding a solution on it.
I want to also bring all of this together by connecting each approach of my E-portfolio. I would tie in the idea that "Leon On Me" brings to education. As well as the different purposes and ideas that documentaries on education have inflicted on the masses prior to the process of depositing which is exercised now in education systems according to Freire. I would also take images and videos as well as other literatures that can bring more substance to my E-portfolio. Richard Rodriguez's "Achievement of Desire" contains the many issues he feels he experienced not with education but with balancing his family life with his academic life. I will also use diagrams, clips of shows and other forms of interactive information to entice the viewer to want to not only question Freire but to agree with his claims, while thinking of education as one concrete idea.
