I'm a Chilean scholar and Ph.D. candidate of the Political Science Department at Loyola University Chicago. I'm currently working on my doctoral dissertation "Surviving the Presidency: Presidential Failures in South America." I seek to answer why since the return of democracy some South American presidents have failed to complete their constitutional terms in office. 

My major research areas are comparative politics and international relations. I’m particularly interested in government crises and presidential instability in developing countries, women’s political representation, and U.S.-Latin American relations.
