Project 8: Wiki

1) Stephanie Mazzaro
2) Fifth Grade
3)This project covers three subject matters. They are Technology, Math and English Language Arts. 
4) One of the goals of this project is that students will be able to discuss and enforce what they are learning in the classroom in a safe environment facilitated by the teacher (me in this case) by posting on a wiki site and discussing what their classmates have written. 
5) I believe this project could facilitate learning because it gives way for further discussion outside the classroom. The discussion is still monitored like it would be in the classroom, but students should be more willing to post and talk where in the class their shyness might overcome them.

Learning Standard 1 : Language for Information and Understanding
Students will listen, speak, read, and write for information and understanding.

As listeners and readers, students will collect data, facts, and ideas; discover relationships, concepts, and generalizations; and use knowledge generated from oral, written, and electronically produced texts. As speakers and writers, they will use oral and written language that follows the accepted conventions of the English language to acquire, interpret, apply, and transmit information.

Speaking and writing to acquire and transmit information requires asking probing and clarifying questions, interpreting information in one’s own words, applying information from one context to another, and presenting the information and interpretation clearly, concisely, and comprehensibly.

Use details, examples, anecdotes, or personal experiences to explain or clarify information.

Include relevant information and exclude extraneous material.
