Standard 2.1 Reading, Writing, and Oral Language

This writing assignment aligns with the standard because it shows what I would do in a guided reading lesson. It gives all the components of a guided reading, showing what I would do as an activity and to enforce learning and comprehension. It also gives a reading level for the reading to best suit a learning style. Finally, it shows a grasp of the learning standards for English Language Arts in the state of New York. 

I chose this assignment to align with this standard because it best displays my knowledge of a guided reading lesson. It is well-written and the lesson is explained in detail. It also displays standards which are an important part to any lesson, and an extend activity which insures comprehension of all the words used in the story for the lesson.
