Dungeons & Dragons: Week 2

For this week, I want to focus on the feeling of community D&D brings about. I feel much closer to many of the friends I've decided to play with and have bonded with new ones as well over the game. It really is this staple of nerd culture that you can meet so many cool people through. You have to get along pretty well for campaigns to survive as well, as drama in the group can make them fall apart. I guess I'm trying to say that D&D brings people closer and can be a true test of friendship at the same time. You may see different sides of people you thought you knew everything about through their characters, for example. Like your jokester friend could have a very serious moment in character, and you could learn that side of them. That's the sort of magic of community you can get through the game, and though I play online, this magic exists in local communities as well. many game stores run special nights where players can come and play, and theres even a regulated league called "adventurer's league" taht has its own rules and regulations.

For my session, we actually did end up returning to it on Sunday, but there were some unforseen issues that kind of cut it short. Looking forward to next time we play, though!
