During my education classes at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, I have had the great opportunity to visit and participate in schools around the valley. Through service learning I have been able to gain a further understanding and respect of the teaching profession. I have also been able to take lessons learned through my class work at the college and apply it at the schools I have visited. For example, when visiting Gila Crossing I was able to use my new found knowledge of the Native American culture to understand some of the students behaviors better.
