On April 22nd, 2005 I was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.  This organization recognizes and promotes academic achievement among the students of two-year colleges. It provides opportunities for leadership training and encourages personal growth among members and associates. During my time in PTK I have participated in many Leadership building activities, Community Service activities, and Volunteer activities.

I have included this section in my portfolio so that my activities, achievements and participation in this organization is available to University Admissions staff and future employers.

  • March 4th, 2005: PTK goes Into The Streets to help the United Food Bank - During this event I volunteered to help pick grapefruit at a local orchid for food baskets to be given to those in need.  I joined a number of other Phi Theta Kappians and other Chandler-Gilbert Community College students in this community service project.  By the end of the event we had all worked hard and together to pick 5 huge barrels full of Grapefruit.
