Our program uses the AYES (Automotive Youth Educational System) model which incorporates local auto dealer partnerships. The dealers provide representatives to help run our AYES business and education committee which in turn decides what events we will have and the event calendar. The committee meets three to four times a year at the Career Center for a lunch meeting. The dealers provide mentor technicians for our students to intern with during the summer. Some of the events we have are the Career Center Car Show/Open House, Mentor Appreciation Banquet at the Washington Auto Show, student shadowing at the dealership with a Master Technician, student interview day with the Dealers, and combined intern/mentor training before the intern goes out to the dealership for the summer.
