Alignment:
This artifact met the following North Carolina Standards for Elementary School Teachers:
NETS-T Standard II-A. This artifacts meets this standard because of modifications for various populations, including older or younger children. (For example, first graders could do this with hard copies of the images; older children could create their own picture stories or could try to arrange you pictures into two different stories.)
NETS-T Standard IV-A. This artifact meets this standard because it allows teachers to print out finished stories or the students can print their own stories and display after grading. It also allows older students the opportunity to e-mail finished assignments to the instructor or they may e-mail them to their home e-mail to share with parents.
NETS-T Standard IV-C. This artifacts meets this standard because a set of documents has been developed that can be used by students and the teacher. These documents include images, instructions, and a rubric to evaluate students work. These documents allow the teacher to assess the cut and paste activity, copying from one place to another, creativity, writing skills, and practicing sequencing. Included is a sample (using images from a friend's project.) that can used as a whole group activity.
NETS-T Standard VI-D. This artifact meets this standard because it encourages kids to stretch during long periods at the computer. This needs to be encouraged at all times due to wrist injuries.
NETS-T Standard VI-E. This artifact meets this standard because it requires pairs of students to switch off computer time. This is optional depending on the number of computers available.
