                   All Classes:  Read the three articles about Cory Monteith that are found on my links page. Answer the following questions in sentences on pages  29 R and L of your composition book by TUESDAY, 5/20:

1) What event made Cory first seek help for his drug abuse?

2) What was described by Monteith, as the first time he’d felt the satisfaction of “working hard and being good at something?”

3) Why did Cory say he was telling his story about his drug abuse?

4)Why did Cory describe drug use as a trap?

5) What sentence or quote in the articles struck you most? Why?

6) What lessons can young people take away from this actor's story and tragic death? Explain.

Monday -- Write a friendly letter to the future you to be opened on your fourteenth birthday! Write about: What is life like now? What goals do you hope to have achieved? Why? What people or other things keep you motivated to reach your goals? What do you hope to be most proud of?  What advice can you give your future self to be the happy and healthy teen that you wish to be? Letter should be 3-4 paragraphs in length. Letter to fourteen year old self is due Tomorrow.

Wednesday -- Ecosystem foldnote due Friday. Keep the same theme and include pic and definition for: individual (or organism), population, community, ecosystem, and biome. Use 16-1 text  for help but remember to ignore the incorrect pictures.

LAB QUESTIONS FOR PER 3+5 TO FINISH:

1. Make a line graph of the estimated turtle population for years 1-4. 2. Tell how the population changed over time. 3.Give a hypothesis for the cause of change in population. 4. Predict the turtle population for year 5 and explain.

WEEK OF 3/10

Monday -- Energy "planners" and "historians" make sure to work on finding or making a visual aid as described in our webquest.  Meet back in C 205 Tuesday.

Tuesday -- Finish classwork worksheet "Fossil Fuel Production and Use". Per 1 and 5 ONLY meet in D211 Wednesday to work on Energy Projects. All other classes report to C205 as usual.

Wednesday -- No hw

Thursday -- No HW.  Meet in S144 Friday.  I hope to see you at Open House! (Classroom visits are from 7:00-8:00 tonight.)

Friday-- We will have one last trip to the computer lab Wednesday. Be prepared to present your projects on Thursday!!!

Monday-- Study for 4.1 quiz Tuesday Thursday.  Per 1-4: Meet in S- 144 Lab. Bring a flashdrive if possible.

Tuesday -- Study for quiz 4.1 Tuesday Thursday. All classes: Meet in S-- 144 Lab Wednesday. Bring a pencil, compbook, and flashdrive.

Wednesday -- Study for quiz 4.1 Tuesday Thursday.

Thursday -- Meet Friday in S144 Lab. Bring comp book (with page of Energy book Notes), pencil, and flashdrive, if possible.

Friday-- Meet in S144 Monday to continue project work.

START OFF THE SEMESTER WITH EXTRA CREDIT: FIND EVIDENCE OF WEATHERING IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD OR AT A PARK. TAKE A PICTURE AND PRINT IT OUT ALONG WITH AN EXPLANATION OF WHERE YOUR FOUND THE ROCK AND A DESRCIPTION OF THE TYPE OF WEATHERING. BE PREPARED TO PRESENT FOR 30 SECONDS IN CLASS. DUE 1/31.

Friday-- Quiz 10.1 Tuesday, 1/4. Collect materials, print out pictures, do research for next Thursday's  Mass Movement class assignment. You want to choose to make a before/after model of: a mudflow, landslide, slump, creep, or rock slide. (We will work in class.)
