Artifact: ISIS Discussion

Domain 3b: Using Questioning and Discussion Techniques
IMG_2874 (1).JPG This lesson was one of my favorite lessons from my Field Experience in the 11th Grade Honors Government class. This lesson falls under domain 3a, 3b, and 3c. I was able to have students complete a reading for homework, and then have a Socratic discussion the next day in class. The discussion went very well as I was able to engage all students to promote a student led discussion in which I was able to facilitate and guide. The students responded in an extremely positive manner by sharing different ideas an opinions, in an academic and professional way. Students were then able to provide feeback as to what U.S. involvement against ISIS should be, providing reasons both for and against, creating a contrasting ideas bulliten board with student work.
