Domain 4d: Working in and Contributing to the School and District
srhsfootball.jpg This article falls under the category 4d because of my work with the Slippery Rock High School Varsity Football team. On average, I would volunteer roughly 12+ hours each week with football practices, Varsity games, and Junior Varsity games. I was accepted by the Slippery Rock Area School District in order to be a volunteer with the team, and tried in every way possible to be a positive contribution to both the coaching staff and players. I also think that my involvement in coaching helped me develop an outstanding rapport with my students, both in the classroom and on the football field. Not only did football players get to spend time outside of school with me, but I felt as if I was able to connect with band members, majorettes, cheerleaders, and nearly any student in attendance to the games on Friday nights. In addition to coaching, I was a spectator at multiple sporting events of my students such as baseball, softball, and volleyball. I also attended the Slippery Rock High School's production of The Adams Family.
