This picture is the reason that I learned the benefits of building community. This was my first retreat at LUREC with the Black Cultural Center (BCC) and I created freindships that will last a lifetime. I learned so much about myself and the people around me, even had role models to look to for guidance and support. BCC and SDMA were my first homes upon joining the Loyola community and they shaped me into the person I am today.
