People who make a Difference

Context: I completed this assignment for the Social Studies block II class, under the instruction of Dr. Oldendorf, In the Fall of 2007.

Impact: We had to pick a children's book on someone who had an impact on history. I chose Cesar Chavez. The book titled, Harvesting Hope: the story of Ceasr Chavez. Writting by Kathleen Krull. During this activity We had to use children's literature to teach social studes content about people who make a difference. We had to tie our book to the historical perspective, current usues, biography of the person, geographincal persepective, an legacy of the person. I also ha to present the information and any additiona background information, specific curriculum connections, and the connection it had with my service learning project. I also had to prepare a written product. Which included a review of the book and a lesson plan based on the book.
