Gods

•       Myth of Isis and Osiris

•       What part did the gods play in daily life?

•       Who were the main gods and what did they look like?

•       Choose pairs and gods for presentations, start research.

•       Finish putting together presentations.

•       Give Google Presentation slideshow presentations about gods to class.

•       Why was his tomb so important?

•       Is it ethical for archaeologists to disturb old tombs?

•       Introduce other pharaoh’s and assign them for pharaoh project in groups

Pharaohs Project

Workday

 

•       Workday for pharaoh biography project

•       Students create character bio for their pharaoh.

•       Word document with historical info, important actions, buildings they constructed, wars they fought, religious actions they took, etc.

Mummies, tombs, and

the Afterlife

•       What is a mummy?

•       Who/what (animals) was mummified?

•       How were they created?

•       What items were placed in the tomb with mummies?

Class 8

11/21

Mummy Creation

•       Create mummy using dolls by following mummification process. 

•       Wash, cut open, add salt, wrap, make coffin.

 

Class 9

Tomb Building

•       Design tomb area.  Place clay items in the tomb with the mummy. 

•       Write an explanation for how each item would be used.

Class 10

11/28

Tomb Building cont.

•       Today students will have the chance to continue work on their tombs. 

•       This will include the mummy case, clay items, hieroglyphics on the walls, and general layout.

Post-assessment, Workday, and Presentations

 

•       Students will take the post-assessment during the first part of the class.

•       When they finish, students can work on their tombs.

•       At the last part of the class they will give a short presentation about their pharaoh and tomb to the rest of the class
