Long Term

I am getting my degree in secondary education with a certificate in special education. The school of education is not a competitive school so I know all I have to do is apply and as long as all my grades are or above a “C” then I know I am qualified to get in to it. I am excited to start classes for my major for next semester. 2. Gaining Experiences a. RISE Learning The two types of learning that I am for sure going to use from RISE is experimental learning through internships and through job shadowing. I would love to find an internship as soon as possible to see if I know for sure I am in the right field of work, or close to it. I have been looking for internships everywhere and have yet to of found one in special education. I hope I can find one soon so I will keep looking. I looked through the jag jobs and even snagajob.com and other places you can find jobs. The other type of learning that I want to do is Undergraduate Research. I think I would like to dig deeper into the education field and into special education. I want to learn more about that major to ensure that it’s for me. I don’t want to waste anymore time, I want to get on top of it.

I looked on jag jobs and although there wasn't anything to do with special education there was a lot of part time teaching jobs and child assistant jobs. I plan to look into those more but I really wanted to find one for special education. Obviously from the results of my searches, it can be a tough internship to find. I think I may have to look for a normal teaching internship and get my feet wet and see if I can find any resources to help me get to that second step.
