Teachers must assess and evaluate students continuously. They use assessments to inform and improve teaching.

Teachers help students discover what they can do, not just what they cannot.

Teachers understand that their language has a substantial effect on students and other teachers.

Teachers must be able to communicate clearly, thoughtfully, and correctly.
