Examples of my work

This is a project that was completed in lieu of a final exam and includes the implementation of many aspects of mathematics education that I have experienced.  I planned a lesson, executed the plan, assessed the students in general, and reflected upon the lesson.

Preschool Mathematics Lesson Plan

I had to design a science project/experiment to help third grade students learn more about a specific topic area.  As evidence of my design, I had to create a handout for students that clearly describes the objectives of the project, and is specifically designed to help students achieve those objectives.

This is a sociodramatic play lesson that I created and executed in the preschool classroom where I interned.

3rd Grade Literacy Lesson Plan

Lesson planning is at the heart of teaching. For students, revisiting texts multiple times is a powerful teaching tool and one that allows them to grow as readers and writers. I developed a set of lesson plans that connected to a nonfiction text. The sets of plans included an interactive read aloud, a reading mini-lesson, and a writing mini-lesson for third grade students.

Lesson Plan Set

After reading Janis Keyser's book, From Parents to Partners, I had to write a letter to parents. In the letter I had to explain: who I am as their children's teacher, my teaching philosophy, and how I want to include them in the classroom experience.
