Cultural Diversity

Cultural Diversity in Education is a hot topic when it comes to teaching. I believe this course was a very important one to take because we discussed situations that would press us in ways we would need to learn how to respond. Not only do I feel like I walked out of this class with a greater respect for different cultures and situations in my classroom, I feel like I will be a better teacher from the things we discussed in the course. It helped me see situations in the world that occur simply because stereotypes or -ism's that people have. I know now that I will have a foundation for these situations if and when they occur.

My philosophy of Diversity in Education is my personal mission statement to ensure that diversity is expressed in my classroom. The critical thinking displayed in my essay gives me a foundation on which to make my decisions about what I will or will not do in my own classroom!
