How much of this is "real" science anyway?

So far you've studied what science is, you've seen how Darwin made his observations, you've found evidence for evolution - now put it all together and show me what you know! Using the scientific method, explain to me the difference between a hypothesis and SCIENTIFIC theory.

Prove to me that you understand the difference between a scientific theory and the “slang” theory, like I have a theory that you will do this the night before it’s due… Or, Barbara has a theory that beet juice increases intelligence, so she drinks beet juice before a test.

You can be creative, you can pretend you are presenting Darwin’s Theory of Evolution to the National Academy of Sciences. You may choose to present it as a science fair exhibit (complete with triboard), you can make it into a cartoon strip, a powerpoint presentation or an outline. Just make sure you are clear about the SCIENCE behind it. If you have questions, present me a preview copy BEFORE it’s due

As always, use the rubric below to help guide you. Extra credit will be offered for the more creative your project is!
