7. Europe Travel Diary/Magazine

In groups of 2, 3 or 4:
- Assemble a magazine that records your travels to different European cities.
- As a team you will need to assemble a front cover and back cover.
- Each of you will be responsible for his/her own inside city visit page.
- Your own page should have a title using word art or tables, columns and 3 images.
- Be consistent with format – each of you should use the same font and size!

DUE - Monday, March 19th

• Magazine Front/Cover & Rear Cover/Design: On the front, include 3 or 4 pictures/photos (at least one for each member) that represent your group's country and cities, utilize creative images and word art. Spend some time on the layout and design. Be creative! The back should list all of your names and consist of a (funny!) preview of the next issue, with 3 or 4 images. Be sure to use colored borders on both sides.

• Articles: (Take note that you get a solo grade for this portion) Each member of your group must “visit” one city in your country and create a magazine page with an account of the visit and illustrations of each required item.

Research your city based on the criteria below and write an account—a travelogue! Use descriptive language; write in complete sentences.  Maximum size 12 point font, single-spaced. Include images for each of the required items as part of the layout.

What you should include in your page:

- Your name
- The country and city you are visiting
- An account of and an image of all the following:

1.    For each city you must find the local currency that you used.
2.    How you will get around in your city (tour bus, walk, scooter, car, elephant ride)
3.    Name of your hotel, and how was it rated?
4.    Name of a restaurant where you had lunch (what was the local cuisine like? Hint: find a menu)
5.    One famous tourist sight you saw.
6.    Another famous tourist sight you saw.
7.    One famous business or corporation in your city. (Mercedez Benz, Ikea, Lindt chocolates etc))

• Good account/Well written = 10
• Addresses Criteria = 12
• 6  images, 3points each = 18
• Titles using word art = 5

Have you read this far? I have three riddles - one Olson Dollar per riddle - to the first student. Tell Mr.Olson what the countries in blue all have in common (remember the log question?). What is a lorry in England? What country in the Nordic Nations has a famous campground where one can camp and see the Midnight Sun?
