Back Story...

"Anything I've ever done that ultimately was worthwhile... initially scared me to death." - Betty Bender

I have been going to school continuously since 2009, 6 years to get a Bachelor's. I've kept my GPA above 3.8 continuously as well. So why in the world did it take me so long? I graduated my Senior year as Salutatorian of my class, at the same time being pregnant with my second child.

I worked in a factory for 9 years. After being employed there for 3 years, I knew I had to make a decision to better my future. Divorced and working 48+ on the production line was not going to secure my family's future. I was just aiming for my Associates from NWACC. Quickly realizing my Associates would not be enough, I met with one of JBU's recruiters with only 30 hours. I knew this is where I needed to be. The first night of logging onto JBU's eaglenet in January 2014 was emotional; I never thought I'd make it that far...If you would have told me 7 years ago that I'd be graduating with my Bachelor's, I would have laughed...

Education has changed my life.
