Over the past couple years I have had a great time at Longwood University. I have been a part of a few student activities that have allowed me to become an active member of the university. Longwood University offers many student clubs, for instance, the fishing club, soccer club, and many academic fraternities for different majors. All of these clubs are very popular and students really enjoy being part of an organization.
During my freshman year I joined the Longwood University Men's Rugby club. Being a part of this club has been the highlight of my college career because being part of rugby has made so many new friends. I also feel good to be a part of a club that is so invested in all the players, meaning that we all strongly encourage teammates to take care of each other and look out for them when they need it. Rugby has also been great for me staying in shape, we have practice almost every day of the week and almost every other weekend we spend traveling to other schools for games. Our club also takes an active role in community service, for instance, every semester the whole team participates in "Faces". When we work at "Faces" we help fill out bags of food for families with low income.
Another club I have attended at Longwood University is the ACM club. ACM stand for "Association for Computing Machinery", this club is actually very popular in most universities. The ACM club is actually run through the Computer Science department. ACM, the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the computing field's premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources. I have really enjoyed being in this club because it has given me more access to uncommon resources that I wouldn't have.
