About Me

Bonjour class!  This section is here to tell you a little bit about myself, your teacher, Madame Patton.

I am a Middlebury Interactive Languages Lab Facilitator.  It's quite a mouthful of a job title but what I do is relatively simple:  I monitor and assist students who are learning French through the Middlebury Interactive Language Program.  As part of my job, I coordinate with our lead teacher to make sure all of our students are learning to the best of their abilities.  I also handle many of the administrative details of running a classroom such as behavior management, attendence, entering grades (but not grading the work itself), and all of that fun stuff.  I have been in this position for two and a half years now and I greatly enjoy it.  I love working with my students and helping them not only learn French, but learn valuable tools that will help them throughout their academic careers such as notetaking and the ability to work independantly and be responsible for their own learning.

I attended Eastern University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2012.  I was a member of the Templeton Honors College and majored in Music Performance with a concentration in classical vocal performance.  Upon graduation, I started as a substitute teacher and discovered my love of teaching.  I am presently pursuing my Masters in Special Education from Willmington University, and anticipate graduating in December 2017.  I assist with the Drama Club, primarily as the costume and make-up designer.  I love to sew and make everything from quilts to handbags to clothes.  In addition, I am an avid reader and writer, and hope to publish a novel some day.
