Connections to LUC

College Assessment Technique

Being a Loyola student means being a part of the Loyola community. For me being a part of the Loyola community meant finding young men and women who shared my values and passions and making the most of our four years at Loyola together while positively influencing the lives of others. The picture above was taken on a beach in Anomabu, Ghana where my Global Brigade spend 10 days holding a free clinic for local villagers. Global Brigades is the perfect example of what community at Loyola means to me. We were a group of strangers who shared a passion to serve, so we came together to try to help others while also making lasting friendships and enhancing our own life experience as well. Being a part of Loyola's community means coming together to go forth and connect to other communities outside of our own. Loyola offers endless opportunities to get out of our confined college bubble and to truly interact with our neighborhood, our city, and the rest of the world. And through expanding our horizons and gaining new perspectives on our surroundings and on our lives, we students continue to bond with one another to strengthen our friendships. It is a wonderful, continuos cycle.
