This project was assigned so that we would have a reflective understanding of the new Common Core State Standards and be well-prepared for the change. In our essays we were asked to explore the changes of the Common Core, the controversies surrounding it and to reflect on how we would step up to the plate with teacher-created curriculum.
Peer Review #1
I have reviewed Chris Nazario's essay.
Strong points of the essay:
-Correctly annotated
-Good amount of resources
-Good use of adding your own personal experiences (practicum observations)
-Nice conclusion, stating how teachers just need to get used to the Common Core changes
My constructive suggestions to improve the essay are:
-Maybe a little too against the Common Core
-Could use an equal amount of pro's and con's instead of mostly con's
-Need to include PDF and Word doc links
