Throughout my participation in Block I, my practicum observation placement and exploring the beliefs of major educational theorists, I have acquired a greater understanding of my philosophy on teaching. Although this statement is an ever growing piece on my beliefs on how students learn best and the most effective teaching strategies, my future experiences and classes will continually reinforce and expand my ideas. My philosophy on education encourages critical thinking, problem solving, self-relfection, active engagement and collaboration among students. I believe that learning through inquiry develops self-competence in students and prepares them for higher learning.
Below you will find an attachment of my philosophy of education in more detail.
