This year we will investigate weather and the atmosphere, the human body, heredity, and forces and motion.  We will use interactive notebooks to analyze the information that we cover together, and we will do labs to help us understand the concepts firsthand.  Throughout the year, we will use technology to help us better understand the scientific concepts that we study.  Specifically, we will use our class blog and our class wiki.  Both of these sites are great study tools as well as good places to find more information about topics we discuss in class.

The class blog is a place to keep up with what's happening in class.  The blog will contain links to videos and interactive sites related to what we are studying in class.  It is sort of like a day by day diary about 7th grade Social Studies.  Sometimes, you will be asked to visit the blog, or even comment on blog posts.  The blog is a great way for parents to keep up with what is happening in class too!

A wiki is place where people can collaborate, or work together, on the internet.  The best know example of a wiki is wikipedia.com, where people can contribrute to encyclopedia articles about anything in the world.  Our class will be creating our own wiki this year.  Students will work together to create an informative resource about Social Studies online.  We will include important vocabulary words and concepts covered in class.  For more information about wikis, please visit our wiki's website.
