Class Rules and Syllabus

Below you will find all the administrative information about our BCIS classroom. This will include expectations, rules, and consequences. If you have any questions please email me at erica@ccisd.com.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

 

BE ON TIME TO CLASS: After the last bell sounds doors will be closed. If you are tardy you will be assigned detention.

 

BE PREPARED AND PARTICIPATE DURING CLASS: This means bringing all required materials (This means your FOLDER) to class and actively participating during the class time. Any student who chooses to sleep or waste time during class will receive a 0 for that period’s assignment(s).
Must bring the following to class each day: Pen/Pencil, Folder, Paper

 

KEEP UP WITH CLASS ASSIGNMENTS: Most of the work in this class will be in-class assignments. If you do not finish the work within the allowed time it will be your responsibility to come in during tutorials to finish. Tutorial Schedules are posted on the board each week.

 

FOLLOW ALL CLASS, CAMPUS, AND DISTRICT POLICIES: This includes the rules listed on the following page, campus mandates made throughout the year, and all rules in the Student Code of Conduct.

 

GRADING PROCEDURES

The following equation will be used to average student grades:

Minor Grades=40% 

Major Grades=60%

= .4(minor avg.) + .6(major avg.)

Minor Grades will include Practices, Notes and Review Question assignments, folder checks and other daily grades. </DIV>
  • Major Grades will include Chapter and Unit tests, projects, and Lesson exercises.

    Per the Student Handbook, each student will have 3 consecutive school days (not class periods) to take care of any work missed due to an absence.

     

    Ms. Pullen's Classroom Rules

    1. Food and Drinks need to stay in the cafeteria. Anyone bringing in food will be asked to throw it away.
    2. The ONLY software to be used in this classroom will be the Office 2007 Suite and those specified by the teacher. Per Campus and District rules computer games and internet games can not be played and the Internet may only be accessed with the permission of the classroom teacher.
    3. All computer settings are to remain at the default settings. Any student caught changing the setting will be sent to the office for violating the Computer Use Policy.
    4. Take care of all computer equipment assigned and around you.
    5. Respect your classmates as you would want to be respected. Keep your hands to yourself.
    6. Only adult staff members will be allowed in the teacher’s area.
    7. Follow directives of the adult in charge of the classroom. This will become vital in case of any emergency situation.
    8. Smile. I'm not that mean. My purpose is to teach you, not fail you. I want you to succeed.

    Violation of Class Room Rules or the Computer Use Policy can result in:

    • Verbal Warning/Detention/phone call to parent
    • Office Referral
    • Removal from class
    • Loss of computer privileges
    • Other disciplinary actions such as ISS or Suspension

    If a student fails to show for a detention, that student will receive an office referral.
