Computer History

During this 2 week unit, students will be learning about the development of computer technology. We will cover topics such as a timeline of events and how computers process data.

Word

In this unit we will be studying all the features for the Word program. You will learn to edit a variety of documents as well as create new ones such as resume's, research papers, business letters, and memos.

Excel

During this unit we will studying the basic and advanced techniques of the Microsoft Excel Program. You will be creating new spreadsheets as well as manipulating old worksheets' information, creating new charts and graphs, and use formulas and functions to perform calculations.

Access

This unit we will be studying some basic and advanced features of relational databases and the Access program. You will learn how to create tables and forms, set up relationships, pull information from tables, and run reports.

PowerPoint

During this unit you will be creating new presentations as well as researching data for an end of the year project. After completing this unit, you should have mastered the PowerPoint Program.

Office and Research Basics

During this lesson we will be discussing Internet etiquette, e-mail procedures, viruses, and other malicious programs. Students will complete a short research project inconjunction with this lesson.

Networks and Systems

While covering this unit, students will learn to identify different types of networks and network components. Students will also assess the cost of a network.
