Leadership Reflection

My leadership reflection can be divided into areas, Internship and an Educational Improvement Plan.

Educational Improvement Plan are meant be used in a schools or schools to close the achievement gap. This plan can be based on data analysis and specific areas targeted. On the other hand it can be a program that can be implemented in a school that address other needs.

For my internship class, the Educational Improvement Plan I am working on is creating a class that is organized around using technology to connect to panel presentations that students can reflect on. However, this was not the initial plan, initially I was hoping to spend some time around student input on panel presentations. However, I am now able to narrow it down to outlining a six-week course of recording panel presentation, students revisiting panel presentation using a specific protocol.  To conclude the course outline students will complete a Panel Presentation Reflection using a specific guideline.

The goal of this Educational Implementation Plan is to link academics and personal growth of students. Panel Presentations have students analyzing and investing in their own growth. In addition, it allows for teachers to reflect on student learning without being judgmental.

Internships in different educational settings provides a novice aspiring leader with hands on experiences in various setting. I completed the required hours in various setting; elementary to high schools, large schools to small schools taking on many different leadership roles. Some of my take away were: the importance of college and college readiness for all students, the importance of teachers collaborating with each other, the ability for a principal to budget wisely but above all the responsibility that we have as educators to provide equal education for all students.
