  3. Innovative Program Brief (1 of 4 related team assignments) Innovative Program Brief (1 of 4 related team assignments)
I offered the suggestion for the Hands of Serve Prepare a Dedicated Texas Work Force (HSPDTWF) program, took responsibility for the Andragogy section, and completed the organizing and editing. Other team members stepped up more with this assignment, but didn't contribute graduate level work. So a lot of the wording, etc. is mine. (Note: We experienced serious conflicts that impeded our initial efforts. I have learned from this not to respond to personal, non-work related comments in future.)
  4. Standardization of Course Numbering Debate, Part 1: 15 point bulleted list for the pro side Standardization of Course Numbering Debate, Part 1: 15 point bulleted list for the pro side
My team was pro. For privacy reasons, I've included only the initials of my teammates. I was responsible for organizing and editing in addition to contributing info. (Note: On this particular assignment, I did most of the work with little input/feedback from other members; I received a grade of 100, but I don't know what my teammates earned.)
  5. Standardization of Course Numbering Debate, Part 2: 6 point bulleted rebuttal of Team B's 15 point bulleted list for the con side Standardization of Course Numbering Debate, Part 2: 6 point bulleted rebuttal of Team B's 15 point bulleted list for the con side
My team was pro. For privacy reasons, I've included only the initials of my teammates and of Team B's members. This was a team project, and I was responsible for organizing and editing in addition to contributing info. On this particular assignment, however, I did most of the work; I received a grade of 100, but I don't know what my teammates earned.
  6. Who Would Have Thought Seniors Can Get HIV/AIDS?: Demographic or Trend Diversity Issue Paper Who Would Have Thought Seniors Can Get HIV/AIDS?: Demographic or Trend Diversity Issue Paper
The assignment was to write a 1050-1400 word analysis of a trend or issue related to adult education. From a random search, I stumbled on the topic of HIV/AIDS prevention programs for older adults, which was interesting for me because I never associated the subject with people 50+ though I knew they could be sexually active and participants in diverse activities such as motorcycling; I even remember a news story about an elderly couple who were arrested for several neighborhood robberies. I also heard the story about the 60-something year old woman who got pregnant. I just hadn't connected the risks of HIV/AIDS to this population, so I feel I really learned something with this paper. (Note: I completed this paper for a different section of the class, which I had to drop due to an unexpected crisis. I received permission from my current instructor to resubmit this assignment since I hadn't received a grade or feedback before dropping the previous section. The content hasn't changed.)
