Jon Klassen allowed me to view the world around me with a new perspective. I am constantly busying myself with papers, projects and presentations. I live right above a forrest, however I never take the time to be still and to see the marvelous creation outside my window. I had lost my sense of wonder and curiosity, however through the work of Jon Klassen I have gained back my sense of creativity. His breathtaking works bring to life nature and the beings that dwell inside and outside the habitat of the forrest. Through his work, he showcases the beauty of nature's simplicity. Many of the motifs in his illustrations showcase the small or insignificant things in contrast with a much larger object or creature. Through photography I have tried to capture the world from the ground level. This allows the viewer of my photography to feel as if they are small and surrounded by the grandeur of the world around them.
