The assignment is a portfolio of students’ observational assessments of two young children over the course of the year. The portfolio addresses the use of anecdotal, standards-based and progress monitoring assessments and of the use of information from families in identifying children’s learning needs. Students demonstrate competence in meeting the two Indiana teacher licensing standards addressed in this course (Teachers of Early Childhood Standard #6; Teachers of Students with Exceptional Needs Standards #8).
