Educational Autobiography

My name is Martha Riley and I am from Homer, New York. In June of 2009 I graduated from Homer Central High school. I am currently a junior at the State University of New York at Cortland. I am majoring in Childhood Education with a concentration in social sciences and will be graduating in the Spring of 2013. I have had two different opportunities working in the classroom and have found these past experiences extremely beneficial. While working with the students in both classrooms it has only increased my passion for teaching.

I have grown up with a family full of educators. One of my aunts is a assistant superintendent and my other two aunts are both fifth grade teachers. I have been constantly reminded of the importance of education and the fact that I have the ability to improve a child's life. As a young child I knew that I would one day be a teacher. I have always been inspired to help young children and I feel that it is important for students to have a teacher that is completely devoted to their students. I strive to be that teacher that is devoted to the students and hopefully I will reach a student that is in need. I have always loved working with young children and I believe it is one of the most rewarding experiences to help students along their educational journey.
